After traveling all over Japan, staying here felt like a highlight — with many attractions just a short walk away, each one more charming than the last. The hotel offers thoughtful extras like a relaxing spa, the option to wear a traditional kimono, and complimentary drinks in the lobby lounge from 5 to 11 pm, which created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, filled with natural light, and offer lovely views of the old town street. While there’s no TV, we didn’t miss it at all — the ambiance and surroundings more than made up for it. I only wish we had stayed longer and I’d return in a heartbeat. This hotel offers an authentic Japanese experience and is absolutely worth it.

Their genuine care and attention made the experience feel magical, leaving me wishing I could have stayed longer. A truly remarkable place!

This is a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. It’s located in the heart of the old town area, just a block from Sanmachi Suji, which is perfect for those staying more than one night and planning to explore the area. I initially considered a hotel closer to the station, but in the end, staying near the main attractions was much more convenient, especially since I was traveling alone for two nights as I could easily go back and forth to the hotel for a quick rest. Almost everything was great for me and the interior was spacious with a modern Japanese design. I had quite a view from my room, so during winter, I could check how cold it was outside and I got to enjoy the beautiful sight of the snow!

The location was fantastic. The rooms were clean, modern and minimalistic but very cozy and comfortable. The raised platform was helpful to organise luggage and warm clothes. Room was very clean. The free drinks in the lounge were a very nice touch as there’s not much to do in takayama in the evening. Restaurants close early so one has to have early dinner. So liked handing out in the lounge with drinks after a long day. Did not have the breakfast so can’t comment but the place is so well located that there are so many good options around. don’t understand why western people would order breakfast expecting western breakfast and then complain they didn’t like it

The staff were over and above friendly and helpful, they even arranged for a lift to the station when I had to leave early after a snowstorm. The room is very stylishly decorated and comfortable. The bed was on the harder side but was surprisingly comfortable. It was very clean. The central sitting area with free beer and sake in the evening was a nice touch for relaxation. The onsen was really superb. Immaculate and very relaxing. The Japanese breakfast was delicious. Good value for money Would definitely stay here again.
